Artist of the Month:

Rebeccah Neu
After working 45
years for someone else, I decided to retire in 2009 and found myself back to,
“what will I do when I grow up?” Well,
being more of a left brainer and planner of meetings and events, I decided I’d
adventure into the unknown and take a jewelry class. I love accessorizing and playing with colors
and found myself actually using another part of my brain that had been on “ice”
for way too many years. Wow…this is fun
and people might even like and possibly buy my designs. This could be the start of something that I’d
enjoy while being creative, what a concept!
Emily discovered me
selling my jewelry in a beauty salon in Newark and suggested I come by Geckos
to see if I would be a good fit…the rest is history.
My jewelry varies in
styles, all ranges of ages, including infants, all color metals, all color
crystals, and all color pearls, turquoise, breast cancer awareness jewelry, and
much more. I dabble in fun to serious
designs, special requests, weddings, mother-daughter pieces, stretchy fashion
rings, and feather earrings and create what is “up-and-coming” in the fashion
jewelry industry.
It’s been a great
journey finding this new side of myself, but the most rewarding has been
connecting with Kay Snelling, Gecko’s Fashions and my new home in Newark.
